JoSunJari to perform during the Gala Reception at the Pierre Hotel September 9Th!!!


JoSunJari© is a sibling string trio of classical musicians.

Joelle, age 19 years, began her study of music at age 4 years on the piano. She was introduced to the violin at age 9 years, and studied briefly at the Harlem School of the Arts. Joelle graduated from a two-year Music Advancement Program at the Juilliard School of Music. In Spring 2009 Joelle graduated from Manhattan School of Music (MSM), where she studied applied violin, theory, ear training, and orchestra. Joelle will begin her junior year at New York University in Fall 2011. In addition to her formal music studies, Joelle performed with the City Opera´s “Nutshell” orchestra for 4 years. Joelle enjoyed two years in chamber ensemble at the New York Youth Orchestra, and four years in the New York Inter School Orchestra (ISO), where she also served as a coach in two junior orchestras, and music tutor for two beginner violin students.

Sunnaj, 14 years, began his study of music at the piano when he was 5 years old. He is a student at MSM where he studies applied violin, along with theory, ear training, and orchestra. Sunnaj was honored to serve as the soloist for the Interschool Orchestra (ISO)´s Turtle Bay Orchestra at the 35th gala performance at Lincoln Center/Avery Music Hall in the 2006 performance season. Sunnaj won 2nd alternate at the Spring 2010 concerto competition at MSM for his performance of Mozart´s Concerto No 4 in D Major!

Sujariis a 10 year old student of the cello. Sujari began her study of the cello at age five, after three years with the violin, and one on piano at age 2 years. She is also enrolled at MSM conservatory where she studies applied cello, theory, ear training, and orchestra. Sujari´s talents on the cello were rewarded when she won first place in the 2008 Annual Associated Music Teachers League, Inc. scholarship competition for her performance of J.S. Bach´s Cello Suite No 1 in G Major, Prelude. In November 2009, Sujari had the honor of performing with Alisa Weilerstein at the White House for President and First Lady Obama and their distinguished guests. In April 2010, Sujari performed at Carnegie´s Weil Hall as a winner of the National Young Musicians Concerto Competition. In March 2010 Sujari performed Bach´s Cello Suite No 1 in G in its entirety as the closing act for the 11th annual international Tropical Baroque Music Festival of the Miami Bach Society in Coral Gables, Florida. In May 2010 Sujari was invited as a guest performer at the fifth annual Midori and Friends Children´s Music Festival. Sujari has been named 2009-10 recipient of the Dianne Flagello Precollege Division Scholarship Endowment, and 2010-11 recipient of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation Scholarship at MSM. Sujari is the winner of the 2010-11 MSM concerto competition! Sujari was featured as one of NBC TheGrio´s “100 History Makers in the Making” 2011.  Sujari recently was awarded a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award through From the Top; she will perform on From the Top radio program to be aired in Fall 2011, and she will serve in the Arts Leadership Program.



The trio debuted in Summer ’07 at a series of impromptu beach performances with their father. JoSunJari  has since enjoyed delighting audiences at various scheduled venues throughout the tri-state area.

JoSunJari has enjoyed repeat appearances as guest performers at the world famous Apollo Theatre during a variety of special programs. These include presentations on the “Amateur Night at the Apollo!, the 2008 Annual Spring Benefit honoring Smokey Robinson and Denzel Washington, and a featured artist spot on “Represent!”.

JoSunJari© served as featured artists at an annual international Cari-Com conference, hosted by the Honorable Congressman Charles Wrangle.

JoSunJari enjoyed a delightful impromptu master class with the world renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma!

JoSunJari opened events at the Met and other venues during the 2009 centennial celebration of the NAACP.

JoSunJari opened the Fall 2009 season as featured artists in an opera/drama/visual arts event, “Save the Bees” (proceeds from which were contributed to the American Beekeeping Federation).

JoSunJari performed at Medgar Evers 2009 annual “Celebration of Life” and received a citation issued by Brooklyn Borough President Mary Markowitz, naming December 5, 2009 “JoSunJari Day”.
